Aaron's Wedding PT II

Sorry for the lapse...

The wedding was wonderful, and we followed G off to the reception. Thankfully, he doesn't mind asking directions and 3 stops and one university later we got there. Funny thing is though, we kept picking up cars, who were also lost and when they saw G & B they figured they must know where they were going so they kept falling in behind us. When we got there G got out of the car and commented that he really needed a shot of tequila after that. We went in and found our seats, and I got in the line for the bar. (seems we spent a lot of time that night waiting to talk to everyone's favorite barman) G came by and I asked if he wanted that shot now, and he said, Nooo, but you can get me a rum and coke (man after my own heart). He came back and said that B said she could use one, so I had a rum and coke, 2 huge shots of jose', 2 beers, and something else. I just didn't have enough hands-till butch came up to see what was taking so long. He took a slug out of B's tequila and carted it and the rum off to their owners. So B and I started the night with double jose shots. She then repaid me in kind a bit later. As you should all know, 2 tequila's is the limit....no matter how much you beg or bribe.

This....is a before shot....

The reception was really nice. The food was great, the room had been decorated by Yamilla and her friends and it looked beautiful. Her cousin made the cake, she has to be a pro.

Then the music started.

B and her baby, dancing.

I had lost Butch for a while and found him talking to someone and he had a drink in his hand. As in, not a beer. This is not a good sign. So I asked him what he was drinking. He indigently put his hand on his hip and in his most smarmy tone, said

"Just you never mind!"

and then tried to drink out of the straw-which would have been good had he actually been able to catch the straw with his mouth, and not chase it around the glass with his tongue hanging out.
I swear-V was standing right there when he said it, and is my witness. He did tell me, after a while that it was Jack Daniels. Like I didn't know I was in trouble already.

We had a great time. We danced and laughed and drank and toasted the happy couple for many hours. I only walked into the men's room once. Scared the poor guy in there half to death.

This is B's back, dancing with G and V across from butch. You see the look on Butch's face. He is definitely having a good time. Him and his new best buddy, Jack, who is still in his hand.

Butch and G's mom, Gladys.....plus Jack in the foreground.

B and her favorite brother, with his friend Jack, getting sentimental. Okay, maybe not senti, but definately the mental part.

Late in the evening, they brought out big baskets to all the tables, and when you opened them, they had hats, and maraca's and noisemakers, and big exploding tubes of confetti. And the DJ yelled CARNIVALE'!!! And everyone had even more fun. I had a pink sequined headband with a snake on the front of it (sequined, of course). The only picture I have that is any way not incriminating is this picture of Gladys and Annette with the Sultans hats on. (keep this in mind as this was exactly what Butch was wearing, only Butch's was yellow)

And I've run out of steam for tonight. Sorry to do this but this book needs a new chapter.

To be continued..........THE TRIP HOME!

Aarons Wedding - Pt I

We trundled down to the Microtel at the airport Thursday night for the OMG! wake up call at 4AM. We were off on the 4:30 shuttle and a full plane took off on time. Good flight, landed 20 minutes early. G picked us up and hauled us home where B & V were cooking up some breakfast. (R & V had flown down the day before-since they're both RETIRED now, they could do that)

Relaxed and caught up, and layed around the pool. We went with B&G to the rehearsal down on Delray Beach. Aaron was all the nervous groom. He has Yamilla's parents, her sister and brother all staying with them. It's a full house for a 2 bedroom apt. The rehearsal was supposed to start at 5, but Yami didn't show up until almost 6, so R&V and the two of us took off to go hold the 6:30 dinner reservation that Aaron had made at a restaurant called Banana Boat, in Boynton Beach. We were imagining what we'd have to do to have the 4 of us look like we were 14. By the time we had Margarita's in hand and appetizers on our mind, the rest of the party trooped in. We had a wonderful dinner.

B put Butch and I on the fold out bed as it was air filled and most like our bed at home. We snuggled in and then our little buddy Cassie jumped up on it, and it was like a trampoline. So, Butch starts chasing her around trying to shuss her off the bed. Well, this became like a game of tag for Cassie-Butch was playing with her. Of course, the fact that there was a big lump on one side she could use to spring off of, was just an added bonus, didn't matter if the two of them were putting bruises on me or not. I asked Butch what the hell he was doing, and to just say-Cassie-DOWN! and she did just that. They both seemed a little disappointed to end the game. Me and my ribs-not so much.
Everyone got up Saturday and we went to breakfast at this great little place called the Lighthouse. It's actually a stone throw to the Jupiter lighthouse and has been there for like a kabillion years. Aaron was with us (no seeing the bride). We got back to the house, and everyone started getting ready. I heard G describe it to some one like this-"did you ever see the movie Home Alone? Well, in the beginning of the movie where everyone is running around like crazy, getting ready to leave.....well, that's what we had" and that's about the perfect description of what it was like getting everyone ready and out of the house.

The weather was almost as beautiful as the bride. Course, the wedding started an hour late. Aaron said it was a good thing he knew she'd always be late, otherwise, he might start to get worried.

Next time-Carnivale

SWA481

Now boarding at gate C2.

Okay, maybe not boarding right now, but at 6am Friday morning, that's what we'll be hearing.
Talk about a dumbass. What kind of idiot would book a flight that leaves at 6:20 AM!
Well, that would be me. It seemed like a real good idea at the time, because that puts us in Palm Beach at 9am. By the pool by oh, 10am! Sounded like a great plan to me at the time.
Then you get the other side, the one that doesn't want to leave right smack in the middle of the day, and waste all of Monday in the airport, so I booked us on a return flight that leaves PBI at 7:30 PM and returns to BWI at 9:55 PM! Yeah, I know, but you know what, I was looking for every bit of time in the warm that I could eek out. Getting home at midnight Monday doesn't sound so good now--no more that getting up at 4:30am to leave. But guess what, I'll be warm. On Sunday Jim Cantore is calling for 80 degree weather!!!! Since we were in single digits twice this week when I went to work, and the wind, oh, man it's just too much. All that warm is just wonderful.
oh, and.......

Bing Bing..........You are free to move about the country!

WHOO-HOOOOO
